This presentation will address common issues that occur after mothers and babies have been discharged from hospital. In particular will focus on how as medical professionals we can best support continuation of lactation in situations of slow weight gain, the “fussy, distressed or refluxing” infant and prolonged jaundice.  Tongue-tie is a controversial issue; information will be presented regarding assessment with discussion about timing and modes of intervention.   Milk sharing is another topical issue, be it informal or organised via a milk bank.  Particular issues faced by women who long term express for their premature or sick infants will be highlighted.
