Dr Wenck is a General Practitioner in Brisbane and is very interested in improving heatlh system delivery, quality improvement in patient care, patient safety and medical indemnity. She was Medical Director of two Coordinated Care Trials from 1997-2005 which were the only Trials orchestrated in General Practice in Australia. She is Vice President of MDA National and National Chair of the President’s Medical Liaison Council (PMLC). Dr Wenck has been an invited speaker on coordinated care and medical indemnity both nationally and internationally. Dr Wenck is the National Chair of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Expert Committee GP Advocacy and Funding. . In 2009, she was commissioned to author a paper for the Health and Hospital Reform Commission titled General Practice in 2020. She was awarded Honorary Fellowship of the RACGP in 2009. In 2012 she was awarded RACGP’s most prestigious honour, the Rose Hunt Medal. During her career, Dr Wenck has been a Ministerial Appointee to the Q Comp Board and the Health Promotion Board in Queensland. She also spent many years as a visiting medical officer at the Royal Children’s Hospital. She is the Medical Consultant for Adoptions, Queensland. Currently, she is Principal Medical Director of National Home Doctor Service in Brisbane and the Chair of the Clinical Advisory Board of National Home Doctor Service, the group responsible for the clinical governance of the organisation. Dr Wenck was President of AMA Queensland (1999-2000) and was awarded Fellowship of the AMA in 2000, and the AMAQ President’s Award in 2007. She is a past AMA Federal Councillor.
